Florida did it but can balanced scoring lead Xavier to Final Four?

The hallmark of Florida's back-to-back national championship teams was the Gators' incredible scoring balance. In both title seasons, they put all five starters in double figures while never having one player average more than 14.3 points per game.

Ulanoff: Facebook's Death Spiral Has Begun

In other instances, Facebook will create an infinite loop of friendliness where there really isn't any.

I've had a couple of "pokes" on my page for ages. Someone poked me, I poked them back, and that should be the end of it.

But the initial poke remains on my page, so I'm never sure if this is a new poke or a remnant.

It's also hard to delete things like mail, so old messages stick around as if they're fresh. Everything seems more active than it really is.

If all of this doesn't concern Facebook fans, it should.

Any site that needs to resort to creating the illusion of life is clearly heading to a place where this is none.

Music festival finds tiny Rothbury on the map

From Woodstock, N.Y., to Indio, Calif., rock-and-roll has a long tradition of turning sleepy, out-of-the way locales into rock meccas.

Next in line could be tiny Rothbury,Michigan, which is set to host a massive rock festival over the July 4 weekend.

More than 70 artists and bands -- including the Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, John Mayer, 311, Modest Mouse, Snoop Dogg and Primus -- will play Rothbury, a four-day rock festival July 3-6 at the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort. The town of Rothbury -- which at last count had a population of less than 500 -- lies about six miles inland from Lake Michigan and about 24 miles north of Muskegon.

Concert promoters and Grant Township officials finalized festival plans late Tuesday.

Clinton Wins Here But Power Revolt Splits New York

The congresswoman's mother and political adviser, Una Clarke, said, “I would just want to say to him, some of those who stayed on the plantation were much more loyal to the liberation of our people than those who came off and were confused. Some were dragged off the plantation, and when they got off, they didn't know what to do. Then you have those who stayed on the plantation and were more strategic in helping those who got off."

Helen Diane Foster, a councilwoman from the Bronx, predicted the Harlem establishment would suffer a reduction in clout in the event of a strong showing by Mr. Obama.

“Clearly, it can't carry that much weight when you have the three [Messrs. Rangel, Dinkins and Paterson] doing the endorsement, you have Calvin Butts doing the endorsement, and these are pillars in Harlem," she said.

State offers help after oil company closes

WATERBURY (AP) The state is offering to help 12,000 customers of a Waterbury oil company that abruptly went out of business and left many people with pre-paid contracts in limbo.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell says state investigators will go to the headquarters of F. and S. Oil Company first thing on Monday to demand access to its business records.

She says the state will also seek a court-appointed receiver to audit the records, and go after any funds that may be missing. State officials will see if they can freeze the company's assets and return money to thousands of customers with pre-buy contracts.

Rell also says her office will work to set up oil deliveries by other companies to F. and S. customers to make sure no one goes without heat.

The state says F. and S. customers can call a state hot line at 1-800-842-2649 beginning Monday morning.

MSU men: Still time to right ship

To be sure, the Montana State men's basketball team doesn't want to let this thing get any further away from them.

And the luster of a 16-point rout of Montana has faded in the haze of three consecutive defeats, the last one, Thursday's 78-76 loss to Weber State, came at home - the Bobcats' first loss at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse this winter. Then again, the senior-laden team is savvy enough to know that every season has its ebb and flow, and perhaps the 'Cats (9-8, 1-3) were due."I'm old - I've been through it all," senior guard Carlos Taylor said. "You aren't going to see my head down."After all, there's so much basketball still to be played, starting with tonight's key 7:05 o'clock game with feisty Idaho State (6-11, 3-1), which is fresh from a 56-54 win at Montana.

There's still time to right a semi-listing ship for a team that once looked like Big Sky Conference contenders."And I still think they are," Weber State coach Randy Rahe said after what he described as a "huge" road win.
