LINUX Web hosting is one of the most successful and popular Web hosting platforms ever. Its success has made it a standard. Depending on which report you read, only the Windows platform offers any threat to its supremacy. Given its success, LINUX has been adopted by the bulk of the worlds Web hosts who offer it either as an exclusive solution, or an option to choose from alongside Windows. With such a plethora of Web hosts offering LINUX, finding a good LINUX host becomes increasingly difficult. Fortunately, FindLinuxHost.com (http://www.findlinuxhost.com), a new Web site launched earlier this month, helps make the job a bit easier. Like the other sites in the series, FindLinuxHost.com provides a number of search options for users. The site offers a Quick Search tool which allows users to indicate whether they are looking for shared, dedicated or reseller hosting, and establish a number of price options ranging from less than $500 per month to less than $10 per month.
Don't panic, the kids are all right
Let's make no mistake, there is always a moral in a Wilson story: bad behaviour happens but never triumphs. Her books are valuable in another way, too, as a teacher from an inner-city primary told me: for her children, Wilson's stories reflect their lives and offer reassurance. So as far as I'm concerned Wilson comes close to sainthood, being largely responsible for firing my daughter's love of reading (and as she is now on to Birdsong, I don't think Wilson did her literacy much harm, either). But on the debate she has ignited this week about children growing up too fast and childhood these days ending at 11, I'm afraid we disagree. It is easy to panic about adolescents. We see them in hoodies, hanging around and looking menacing. We see pictures of them in the gutter after binge drinking.

A rare bit of Welsh glory for Edinburgh
AN OVERUSED phrase it might be, but Edinburgh's "top drawer performance" against the Blues in last night's Magners League clash at Cardiff Arms Park, was exactly that. A late drop goal from the outstanding Phil Godman, provided Edinburgh with the perfect start to 2008 and, understandably, left coach Andy Robinson purring with satisfaction. On a night that would have been better suited to a spot of bog-snorkling, Edinburgh produced a measured performance to not only secure a morale-boosting victory away from Murrayfield, but to further improve their chances of lifting the Magners League silverware. Robinson warned that idle talk of championships and title silverware would not be wise in the coming weeks despite his side's recent rejuvenation in the competition. However, there is little doubt that, behind closed doors, the coaching staff and players too, will have grand designs on the Celtic title.
Requiem for Old-Time Radio
I remember what we now call "terrestrial radio" with ridiculous fondness. I recall huddling with it long past bedtime, the volume set low, hoping to hear something I loved. Thus the truism of how radio is the most intimate medium: You're in bed with the lights out, the music and the DJ's voice going straight into your brain, the images created are yours alone. I remember, with terrible pangs of longing, my first days as a college radio DJ. Doing a 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. slot in a small town in Ohio, even if, during those still and wintry nights, I could have been the last living person on earth for all the people who were actually listening. All of which testifies to how old I am. Realities of the music world—the explosion in both expression and availability, first on independent labels and now everywhere, thanks to the Internet—began overtaking commercial radio stations well over 20 years ago.
Police to headline Stormont concert
An open-air rock concert is to be held in the grounds of the Stormont Estate in Belfast this summer, it was announced. The Police are to make what is being billed as their final Irish appearance ever in late June. It is the latest in a series of open-air concerts at Stormont which have seen such stars as Pavarotti, Elton John, Rod Stewart and the Eagles entertain tens of thousands of people. Welcoming the announcement, Northern Ireland First Minister the Rev Ian Paisley said: "This is a fantastic coup for Northern Ireland. An event of this magnitude has a sizeable benefit for the economy, not least our tourism industry. "The beautiful grounds of the Stormont Estate are a fantastic venue for this event and it is fitting that they should be used by the public in this way." Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness said: "This concert will send a message to the world that not only is the North open for business but that it is also a vibrant and exciting place to be.
Two mainstays of Osage City Hall both mark 20 years on the job
It just kind of takes care of itself with new things happening all the time. In between the unexpected, the normal operations still must get done as well. I also enjoy working with the public. Most times when people do get upset, they just want to know what is going on so that they can deal with it."Moore continued, "Most importantly, I really enjoy my co-workers at City Hall. "Most of them have also been here over 20 years so we're like family. The Police Department makeup is entirely different from when I first started and two people in Public Works were here when I started. Everyone is great to work with and I've also enjoyed working with those who have retired along the way."In her free time (if she can find some), Moore enjoys knitting, cross-stitching, rug hooking, reading, Sudoku and walking.Cathy Penney was born and raised on a farm near Cherokee, Iowa.
