| New spin doctor to help Alexander’s fightback
Labour leader Wendy Alexander's fightback continued yesterday with the appointment of her latest spin doctor and the support of former First Minister Henry McLeish. But both developments were to a degree undermined by the new aide's lack of Holyrood or political experience, and Mr McLeish's frank views on Labour's recent difficulties. .
AIT Domains VR Program Generates Unrivaled Profits
In the years since AITDomains.com introduced its Virtual Domain Registrar program, it has become a cash cow for hundreds of Internet entrepreneurs and resellers. Fayetteville, NC, March 05,2008--In the years since AITDomains.com introduced its Virtual Domain Registrar program (http://aitdomains.com/vrprogram/?pdkw=pr-domainsvr-prp-03042008), it has become a cash cow for hundreds of Internet entrepreneurs and resellers. Many have used it to register, renew, or transfer hundreds of domains, and some enterprising customers have more than 5,000 domains under their accounts. The user creates the pricing structure, controls the registration process, and owns the customer in every substantive way, says Jamie Moore, Product Manager for the program. The program is white-labeled, so AITDomains.com is invisible to the end user, though there is a support system for virtual registrars.
Britney Spears' Driver's-License Case Postponed; Plus Hayden ...
Since Britney Spears isn't in control of her own affairs at the moment, she can't make a plea bargain in her driving-without-a-license case, a Van Nuys, California, judge decided Wednesday (February 20). Spears' attorney for the criminal case told the court that the singer's conservatorship attorneys don't feel she's capable of making an agreement, giving a deposition or signing a declaration at the moment, so Judge T.K. Herman continued the case until March 20. The misdemeanor charge stems from an incident in August in which Spears was videotaped hitting a parked car and leaving the scene without notifying the other driver (the hit-and-run charge was later dropped). Spears was denied visitation rights with her two sons in an unrelated hearing Tuesday. ... Hayden Panettiere must have absorbed someone's musical powers, because the "Heroes" star is putting out a debut album later this year on Hollywood Records.
US district court judge orders shutdown of whistleblower web site
In an extraordinary act of censorship, lawyers representing the Swiss bank Julius Baer (BJB) obtained an injunction against the Dynadot corporation, US domain name registrar for the Wikileaks web site. Judge Jeffrey White of the Federal District Court in San Francisco issued the injunction February 15 in a lawsuit BJB filed against Wilikeaks and Dynadot. The suit was filed after Wikileaks posted documents allegedly revealing fraudulent activities, including asset-hiding, money laundering and tax evasion schemes, on the part of the banks Cayman Islands branch. BJB claims the documents were stolen and contain customer information protected from disclosure under privacy laws. The website of BJB promotes the bank as the leading dedicated wealth manager in Switzerland, concentrating on private banking and asset management for private and institutional clients. Under the terms of the injunction, Dynadot may not release the registered wikileaks.org domain name, meaning that the Wikileaks web site cannot be reached through the related web address, www.wikileaks.org.

Silk painting lures creative spirits to Westerly
She also teaches Watercolor 101 and a dream interpretation workshop that she says is popular. For silk painting, participants work on a 10-inch round piece of silk in a metal frame that they can use later as a sun catcher. For the workshop she uses silk paint but when she teaches classes in her Cumberland, R.I., studio, they work on 8- by 54-inch scarves using silk dye. The distinction Kline points out is that the paint sits on top of the surface while the dye permeates the fabric and is later heat set."The colors in fabric painting are so vibrant, the most vibrant medium I’ve ever used," says Kline. This workshop is ideal for someone who is thinking about silk painting. She says it is a great introduction. The silk is the canvas and using a "resist" the artist creates an outline and then applies the paint.

Consumers' Alarm Grows Contagious
AMERICAN CONSUMERS TODAY are a faithless bunch. They trust neither the economy nor the government. They worry about their jobs, their depreciating homes, the debilitated dollar, tight-fisted lenders, $4 gasoline and the creeping proliferation of $14 martinis. Just last week, the Conference Board's index of consumer confidence plunged to its lowest level since March 2003, before the Iraq war began. Their alarm -- and apprehension in the credit market -- is becoming contagious. Stocks fell hard Friday as investors hoping for a swift economic rebound found their faith sorely tested on several fronts: Continued dislocations in the debt market, surging commodity prices and yet more evidence of an economy in decline. For a while last week, stock-market investors had held out hope despite the accumulation of bad news, which included data showing a 7.7% year-over-year jump in producer prices, the biggest such increase since 1981.
