| Microsoft: Streaming Office 'infringes license'
Microsoft has said that the Internet service provider Fasthosts, which has started offering a subscription-based version of Microsoft Office 2007, is infringing on the software giant's licence regulations--but Fasthosts has denied this claim. Earlier this week, the U.K.-based ISP and hosting company started selling a version of Microsoft Office which it advertised as being "streamed to your PC". However, unlike true hosted software, or software as a service (SaaS), it requires the user to download software to their client PC. "Fasthosts' Microsoft Office product uses the SaaS model in that it is delivered and managed via the Internet," explained Mark Jeffries, Fasthosts' chief technology officer, on Thursday. Speaking with CNET News.com sister site ZDNet UK via e-mail, Jeffries said that a "full version Microsoft Office, identical to the boxed product, is downloaded using a streaming service and saved locally on a user's PC." "After one initial download, further small downloads are made for additional features and updates.

Free agent possibilities abound for Rams
The Rams are about to undergo a massive and much-needed overhaul. When the free agent marketplace opens Friday, this franchise will be ready to buy. Jay Zygmunt has cleared ample space under the $116 million salary cap. That's a good thing, too, since this 3-13 team has many holes to fill. A normal NFL team turns over a third of the roster every year, but the change could be more dramatic at Rams Park. Here are the latest developments: * Zygmunt managed to fix Leonard Little's cap number, so the team didn't have to trim its only real pass-rushing threat. Little appears to be recovering fully from toe surgery. Rams management believes he has at least one more productive season in him. This is critical, since the team has so many gaps elsewhere in the lineup.

Cyclone hits Mozambique
Cyclone Jokwe lashed Mozambique Island before hitting the northern coastal province of Nampula, traveling with winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour, Radio Mozambique said. No casualties have been reported and the extent of the damage is not yet known. The government declared a red alert, the highest level, in Nampula and a lesser, yellow, alert in the central provinces amid fears the storm will cause more damage. Cyclone Jokwe is moving in a southwesterly direction toward the inland districts of Nampula and is expected to hit the central province of Zambezia on Monday, bringing with it moderate rain. The cyclone brushed the northern tip of Madagascar on Wednesday before crossing the Mozambique Channel. Flooding - the worst since 2001 when 800 people died - is slowly subsiding in many parts of northern and central Mozambique.

Viewers' Comments On Randy Salerno - Part 21
Keep family first. Cherish your friends. Remember where you came from. Live in the moment. The "smart-aleck" kid from Crystal Lake taught us many things by just being himself. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy.--Curt Mitchell, Hinsdale, ILI have written before, but I had to tell this story. When Randy died it hit me hard as it was so sad, as he left his family and friends behind. After watching all the tributes and hearing the stories of Randy from his friends and family, I realized he was just like my brother-in-law who was killed going on three years in Aug. on Lake Shore Drive in a traffic accident. Jeffrey who was killed was just like Randy and would get away with comments of how he handled himself. I was with Jeffrey the day he died as we buried my friend his cousin, and we were sitting at the table for the lucheon and Jeffrey had us in stiches laughing.
