Torsell: Court swayed by bias
On Sept. 26, 2007, a Centre County jury convicted Torsell of vehicular homicide and aggravated assault while driving under the influence, and Centre County Judge Thomas Kistler sentenced him to nearly six years in prison. "[Stidd's] family wanted him to have his day in court as well," Centre County Assistant District Attorney Steve Sloane said. Keith McClellan, a Torsell family friend who was in the courtroom the first day of the trial, testified that he noticed the jury members' "furtive glances" toward Stidd as he was wheeled from the courtroom about 10 feet from the closest juror. "I noticed that Aaron Stidd had been wheeled to the front. There were a number of people milling around him," McClellan said. Referring to the accident as "a murder that didn't happen," Sloane said he believes the jury was burdened more with sympathy for Torsell, adding that in Stidd's hour in the courtroom, he "looked surprisingly well, relative to what he had been through." Sloane also cited a note signed unanimously by jurors, asking Kistler to be lenient with Torsell's sentencing.
How effective are the promo spots airing on local TV?
I love the total idiotic shamelessness on display here. And I happily admit that I've been chanting 'News Never Stops' at my wife all day. Can I get a copy of the single on iTunes?" WFXT (Channel 25):More Hours of News The professor: "It's upbeat. They give you one clear reason to watch them, more news than other stations. The graphic animation is almost reminiscent of a clock turning in a 24-hour cycle. They stick to that unique message throughout: more news for the viewers." The student: "This one is pretty clear in their message: They offer more opportunities to see the news at any given time of the day. There is an overarching theme of accessibility and availability to watch the news. If something is changed from the morning, you will hear about it at night." The author: "After watching 'News Never Stops,' I thought for sure Fox would bust out the pole dancers and techno.
I'm hungry
Several nights each week I can be found working in my garage making nice boards into unusable scraps. Occasionally, with a lot of help from glue and nails something takes shape. Along the way I snort and eat copious amounts of saw dust and get many cuts and scrapes. This isn't the case with Marthaller, his stuff is great.
He starts with something ugly - a wood burl. If I were cutting down a tree burl would be the first piece into the fire pit. His burls are exceptionally ugly. If you're reading Duey - you heard me - you have ugly burls. They are covered with moss and bark and overall look as though they could use a bath.
After Marthaller hacks the 60-pound chunk of ugly down to a manageable size he chucks it into his 800-pound lathe and starts it slowly.
New to Market: Chair puts pooches at eye level with eating owners
Most dog aficionados know that it's hard to get through a meal without Fido sitting next to you, begging with those sad eyes. Through San Antonio-based Good Poochie, you now can bring Fido to eye level with a doggie high chair. Good Poochie owner Debbie Margozewitz said she was newly divorced and had just sent a daughter off to college, leaving two empty spots at the table, so she figured her cocker spaniel Elvis was a part of the family and might as well join her. "He'd sit up at the table with me, but I just couldn't figure out a kosher way for him to be able to eat comfortably without him splattering food every which way," said Margozewitz, who also has a son. "Then it came to me — doggie high chair." About the business: Margozewitz runs the business from her home.
MSNBC draws flak over political remarks during campaign coverage
Keith Olbermann excoriates the Bush administration during his show's "Special Comment" segment and occasionally blogs on Daily Kos, a favorite Web site of the left. At an event celebrating his program's 10th anniversary last fall, Chris Matthews declared that the current administration had "been caught in their criminality." The latter comment drew winces internally. But for the most part, MSNBC executives are at ease with the dual roles played by the network's personalities. Both Olbermann and Matthews moderated campaign forums last year and anchor major news events. "I do think that viewers accept that there are points of view out there, and sometimes that seeps out," Griffin said. "As long as you're up front and straight about what you're doing, I'm OK." Still, he admits the dynamic is "a high-wire act," underscored when Shuster, serving as guest host on "Tucker," made the "pimped out" remark.

New York Jets Fansite Drops Yahoo Webcam Vulnerability Exploit
Yet another web attack targeting the visitors of a very popular website and the vulnerabilities discovered on their computers. This time, the affected page is a New York Jets fansite, which obviously has a lot of visitors every day. Just like the past attacks, the website has been compromised with an embedded Iframe that attempts to take the visitors on another website, apparently hosted in Estonia. "First, the iFrame (or an obfuscated JavaScript iFrame) contains a redirect to another website .
Greyhounds are great dogs
This article is so one sided it's untrue and I'm sure you can see from all the comments that have been added to the article that I am not the only one of this opinion. Greyhounds are the most gentle and placid dogs and the fact that these two were muzzled goes to show that they have a responsible owner. .
